iRegene secures another 260 million yuan in Series C+ financing to accelerate pipeline development
On July 2nd, iRegene Therapeutics announced the completion of a RMB 260 million Series C+ financing round. This round was led by Chengdu Science and Technology Venture Capital, with participation from CITIC Securities Capital, Xichuan Venture Capital, Dingtai Star, Xinjiye, Hony Capital, and other institutions. Existing shareholders Yuanxi Haihe and GSR Ventures, along with Runpuyuan Feng, continued to invest.
In early June 2026, iRegene completed a RMB 210 million financing round. The fact that it completed two rounds of financing in such a short period fully demonstrates the continued recognition of iRegene by both emerging and existing investors. This also marks a crucial stage in iRegene’ transformation from “technology platform validation” to “clinical value realization” and “accelerated capitalization.”
Continuous financing reflects the capital market’s recognition of clinical certainty
iRegene’ core value is gradually shifting from platform potential to the continuous realization of its clinical pipeline. The completion of two rounds of financing in a short period demonstrates the capital market’s deep recognition of the company.
First, core products have entered the clinical validation stage in China and the United States. The company’s multiple pipelines are simultaneously advancing clinical development in China and the United States. The representative pipeline, NouvNeu001, has been granted Fast Track designation (FTD) and Regenerative Medicine Advanced Therapy designation (RMAT) by the US FDA, demonstrating its international clinical value and regulatory recognition.
Second, the multi-pipeline strategy is gaining clinical certainty. In addition to NouvNeu001, the company is also continuously advancing its NouvNeu004 pipeline, which addresses multi-system atrophy, and the NouvSight series in ophthalmology, gradually forming a pattern of expansion from a single product to a multi-clinical asset portfolio.
Third, the indications focus on the large market related to aging. iRegene focuses on Parkinson’s disease, retinal degenerative diseases, and metabolic function decline, all of which are major disease areas with prominent unmet clinical needs in the context of an aging population, and have significant long-term commercialization potential.
Fourth, the capitalization path has become clearer. With multiple pipelines entering the clinical development and data accumulation stages, the company has the foundation to upgrade from an early-stage technology-driven enterprise to a clinically asset-driven, capital-market-priced biotech.
The core product, NouvNeu001, continues to advance and is becoming a core asset for capitalization
iRegene’ core product, NouvNeu001, is a universal iPSC-derived dopaminergic neural progenitor cell therapy product for Parkinson’s disease. It is also its core asset with the most advanced clinical progress and the highest attention from the capital market.
Currently, NouvNeu001 is undergoing simultaneous clinical development in China and the United States. The product has received Fast Track designation and Advanced Regenerative Medicine Therapy designation from the US FDA. The dual-regional clinical development of NouvNeu001 in China and the US plays a crucial role in validating the company’s R&D capabilities, clinical execution capabilities, registration strategies, and global development capabilities.
Accelerated multi-pipeline clinical development and gradual formation of a platform-based asset portfolio
Beyond its core product NouvNeu001, iRegene has developed several follow-up pipelines with potential for clinical translation. Its NouvNeu004, developed for multiple system atrophy, has entered the clinical development stage, which means that the company has the ability to extend from Parkinson’s disease to adjacent indications in the field of neurodegenerative diseases.
In the field of ophthalmic diseases, iRegene has established the NouvSight pipeline. This pipeline possesses clear clinical value and commercial potential, and also provides an important foundation for the company to form a second growth curve in the future.
From a pipeline perspective, iRegene has initially formed a product portfolio consisting of “core clinical assets + subsequent clinical pipelines + potential major indication expansion.” This significantly enhances the company’s overall valuation stability, reduces the risk of individual projects, and strengthens its capabilities in subsequent financing, business development collaborations, and communication with the capital market.
Focusing on the large market of aging-related diseases, commercialization opportunities continue to expand.
iRegene’ selection of indications is based on a clear long-term market logic. With the accelerating aging of the global population, neurodegenerative diseases, ophthalmic degenerative diseases, metabolic dysfunction, and other age-related diseases are becoming major challenges facing global healthcare systems. For innovative pharmaceutical companies, age-related diseases not only represent significant unmet clinical needs but also a large, promising medical market with strong long-term certainty.
The company focuses on age-related indications, demonstrating its strategic foresight in indication layout and forming a product matrix with continuous development capabilities and long-term commercial value in the field of age-related diseases.
Upgraded investor structure, further strengthening expectations of capitalization
This Series C+ financing round introduced a diversified investor structure, further enhancing the certainty of iRegene’s future capitalization path.
The participation of institutions such as Chengdu Science and Technology Venture Capital, CITIC Securities Capital, and Hony Capital will help enhance the company’s resource connectivity capabilities in the capital market, subsequent financing, and potential capitalization paths. Investments from industry players such as Dingtai Star and Xinjiye reflect the focus of industrial capital on the company’s clinical pipeline and future product value.
At the same time, existing shareholders Yuanxi Haihe and Jinshajiang, together with Runpuyuanfeng, continued to increase their investments, demonstrating the continued confidence of existing investors in the company.
The fact that iRegene has received support from multiple professional investment institutions and industrial capital in a short period of time means that it is gradually moving from an early-stage innovative enterprise to a more mature stage of capital market cultivation.
The addition of Tim Ruan further strengthens its international capital markets capabilities.
With the completion of this round of financing, iRegene has brought in Mr. Tim Ruan, a senior executive in international capital markets, to be responsible for the company’s subsequent capital operations. Mr. Ruan previously served as an executive director at Goldman Sachs and a vice president at Morgan Stanley, possessing experience in international investment banking, cross-border capital markets, innovative enterprise financing, and global investor communication.
Mr. Ruan’s joining represents a significant upgrade to iRegene’s management team. His experience in international capital markets will help the company further improve its ongoing financing plans, capital market narrative, global investor relations, and potential capitalization pathways. iRegene is now forming a management system that promotes “clinical development + industrialization + international capital market” in a coordinated manner, providing stronger support for subsequent financing, business development cooperation, globalization and future capital market path.
“The completion of two rounds of financing within a month is a significant milestone in the company’s development. We are very grateful for the recognition and support of our new and existing investors, and we are also very grateful to Mr. Tim Ruan for joining us. In the future, the company will leverage more efficient execution, a clearer capitalization path, and a more robust clinical development strategy to propel original Chinese cell therapy onto the international stage,” stated the management of iRegene.
